We had a little more rain yesterday and it looks like it will be the same today. Saturday was nice and sunny, though, which helped to lift my mood. Too many gray days in a row can be kind of depressing. But the flowers are loving the rain!
There is new life on my puny red oak in my front yard. It's such a sad little tree. Part of me wishes it would die just so I wouldn't feel guilty about replacing it with a new, stronger tree. But it struggles on and so I will keep it.
I finally watched Star Wars Episode III. I don't care how good or bad people say those last three movies were. I love that story. I may need to watch A New Hope again soon. And I'm glad I have a son who likes Star Wars, too.
If toys really are alive, like in that movie, why don't they put themselves away? It would make things so much easier for all of us. And no one would get left out in the rain.
There is a prediction for more rain this week. Yes, bring on the rains! It makes everything so lush and green. I spent a good three hours working in my yard on Saturday. I've got a nice sized bed all ready for planting. I'm paying for it now, though. One half of my head is completely swollen due to all the oak pollen.
This weekend looks like it will be a nice one. There are a few events in town that we might go check out but I'm hoping to get out in my yard to do some work. There's a flower bed I'm cleaning out and hope to fill with new plants. The recent rains have made the ground nice and soft and I need to take advantage of that.
I took this on Saturday morning near my office. Saturday night we had torrential rains. Monday morning these flowers looked so sad and ragged. But we needed the rain and I bet next weekend there will be new flowers looking better than ever!
A couple of years ago, it snowed on Valentine's Day. I was so excited that I woke the kids up early so we could go out and play in it. Sometimes I wish we had more mornings like that.
I think I'll spend some time in the yard this weekend. My youngest wants to plant sunflowers again.
