I managed to shoot a few pictures last night while the kids were playing and I was trying to be patient while the charcoal got ready. When my daughter bought those colored mats for $5 at a neighbor's garage sale a couple of years ago, I wondered what in the world we would use those mats for. Now I believe it was the best $5 ever spent (and it wasn't even my $5). Not only do the kids play with them all time to build forts, they've come in handy when the kids sleep on the floor in sleeping bags and we've even taken them camping with us because they make a great tent floor.

Yeah, I've been busy. I took what seemed like a million photos last weekend while my family was visiting. And since they left on Monday, I've been so busy helping with homework and science fair projects and doing laundry that I haven't been able to sit down at my computer. Of course, work's been extra busy as well. And now the stress of the holidays has begun, for me anyway. I suppose my presence here will be spotty for the next couple of months.
